Dave DeVore

Dave joined Yankee Marina and Boatyard in 2015 after graduating from The Landing School with a Certificate in Marine Systems.  His marine credentials include ABYC certifications and a USCG Captain’s license.  Dave has logged more than 10,000 nautical miles sailing TransAtlantic (Eastbound and Westbound); competing in offshore distance races, including Newport to Bermuda and Marblehead to Halifax; and making yacht deliveries along the eastern seaboard from Bermuda to Nova Scotia.  Dave’s career in the marine industry ranges from instructing sailing at The Medford Boat Club (MA) and Camp Runoia (ME), making sails for a number of sail lofts, being a mate aboard schooners, and working as a retail associate at Hamilton Marine, Maine’s largest chandlery.

Dave lives in Gray, ME, with his wife. He is passionate about adventure travel and has visited every continent with the exception of Antarctica.  Besides sailing, he enjoys sea kayaking, mountaineering, snowmobiling, cycling, and SCUBA diving.  Someday, Dave aspires to circumnavigate.
